Help Us Become a Semi-Professional Paying Market!

To our loyal subscribers, readers, Patrons andContributors, we would like to thank everyone for the amazing support and positive response we have received the past few months since our inception near the end of the May. In the short period of the time since we’ve begun, we published over a dozen incredible works, and we’re extremely appreciative of the writers and artists that are sending in new submissions every day. 87 Bedford is a labor of love, and it is truly the little successes that mean the world to us.

Since our very first publication, we are proud to be a token paying market. The two pillars of 87 Bedford’s core mission have always been to provide excellent, and interesting quality content to readers for free, and to compensate professional authors for their creative talents, time and effort. Our third goal was the hope and intention to increase our rates as we grow so that we can continue seeking and curating the best, unique examples of fiction, poetry and art.

We are extremely excited to announce that we are now ready to begin reaching that goal. Over the past few weeks, our team has developed a fundraising campaign on Indiegogo for the purposes of making 87 Bedford a semi-professional paying market. We are aiming to raise $4500 in order to increase our rates from $10 per short story to 3 cents a word or $150, and from $5 for poetry, flash and art to $30. In return for the money raised, we have come up with a bunch of different perks and 87 Bedford custom gifts, including a secret perk, only available to the first 20 people who claims it here. All the money raised will go toward compensating authors, the upkeep of the magazine, and future projects such as contests and anthologies.

Please spare a moment to visit our Indiegogo campaign (https://igg.me/at/87bedford). We completely understand that not everyone can donate, but sharing the news with friends and family, or on social media, can be just as helpful in bringing our story to the right people.

We are beyond grateful for everyone’s support in helping us stay true to our vision, and we look forward to making 87 Bedford better and better.

Thank you, and happy reading!

Lichen, Jane, and Hubert
